The use of UV technology for wastewater treatment is a well-recognized and accepted technology as which can provide a proven and environmentally friendly method for disinfecting wastewater.
Two major advantages of UV lamps versus chemical methods are increased disinfection effectiveness (especially against viruses) as well as space-savings due to shorter reaction time. Since no chemicals are introduced to the water, no "post-treatment" is required to remove these chemicals before discharge to the environment.
